Description
Ininti seeds are collected out bush in the Central Desert during the hot summer months.
We collect, clean and sort the seeds by colour. We then drill holes in each seed. This is a time consuming process and many seeds break along the way. Due to 5 years of bad weather conditions, the seeds are becoming more rare. Fingers crossed that this summer will bring a bonanza harvest.
Hole Positions Explained
Front hole (available on request) – means the drill is inserted into the ‘navel’ of the seed so that, when threaded only the colour of the seed is visible
Side Hole – at 90 degrees to the ‘naval’ which is the traditional way. When threaded the little brown ‘naval’ will be visible
Which hole size should you choose?
It depends on what you will be threading them on.
- 2mm for wire or thin elastics
- 3mm for basket weaving, leather, elastic and raffia
