These hand painted gumnuts have slight imperfections so we are offering them at half price.

They would make great activity packs for threading.  Suitable for school, home activities and appreciation of the designs and symbols of aboriginal art.  Every gumnut is a work of art.

FIRE BURNT THREADING HOLES

The threading holes have been burnt into the gumnuts in the traditional way using fire so they have the aroma of campfire.  This is a special skill which is dying out as it is quicker and safer to use a drill.

Each pack includes 50 hand painted gumnuts by Aboriginal women designers on remote Central Australian communities.

IMPERFECTIONS EXPLAINED

Some of the gumnuts are slightly cracked and have been painted over.  Most of them are fine and could be used for your normal art or craft project. If you zoom into the image, you will see them.
